Art on Main Gallery & Gifts

If Thursdays are better nights, head to Clay Terrace Mall, for a Summer Concert Series on The Lawn, 7-9 p.m. Bring family and friends and also enjoy the shops and restaurants at this popular outdoor lifestyle mall. The Carmel International Arts Festival brings more than 40,000 avid art enthusiasts. 130+ juried artists bring their art that includes materials such as wood, fiber and oil. Jewelry, ceramics, sculptures, pottery pieces along with 2D and 3D are also present at the festival.

The Carmel International Arts Festival is unique because the artists are encouraged to use their background and cultural influences within the art being displayed. It is the mission of the Carmel Arts Council to encourage and promote the arts for all ages through leadership, financial, and volunteer support in order to nourish a vibrant culture in the Carmel Community. The Children’s Art Gallery features artwork by kindergarten through 5th grade students, along with middle and high school art. Besides presenting a pleasant gallery environment where you can visit and enjoy the exhibited work with the guidance of the artist, several Art On Main artists also take commission work to meet custom taste and design needs for both home and business.

Carmel Arts & Design District

It is home to interior designers, art galleries, showrooms, restaurants, antique stores and a variety of specialty retail shops. There are 4 divisions; professional, non-professional, teen and children. The Carmel Arts & Design District is one of two state-designated cultural districts in Hamilton County, located along Main Street in downtown Carmel. Beyond the Evan Lurie Gallery, there are a number of local art galleries located within walking distance, making it an art lovers paradise. Visit on the second Saturday of every month for a gallery walk through the district with special events.

Artists will display creations from the Carmel on Canvas event as well as pieces from their broader scope of work. The culinary arts can also play a role in your unique experience as you dine alfresco along our city sidewalks. The Magdalena Gallery of Art displays both traditional and modern works, but the gallery’s primary focus is contemporary art.

CCA Gallery offers exceptional art as an artist owned co-operative gallery, the oldest of its kind in Indiana. Founded in 1978, and part of the Carmel Arts & Design District since 2014, we celebrate more than 40 years with over 35 award winning and emerging artists from Central Indiana;  many of whom are recognized as Indiana Artisans. The Arts & Design District continues to grow and offer more and more amenities for residents and visitors.
